Born in 1958, Corina Oprea lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is a B.A. and M.A. graduate of the Cluj-Napoca Arts and Design University. She is one of the founding members of Atelier 4, an artist run space placed in the historical center of the city, that also gives other artists the opportunity to exhibit their work.
Her projects, conceptual but also a result of a repetitive, huge, stubborn daily work, express the frustration accumulated during the years of communism; her work has the appearance of a simple, superficial play, hiding in fact profound meanings. She had various collaborations in different art projects, both national and international. Her art mixes varied work environments and materials (oil, collage, photography), consisting in painting, installations and street art.
